With so many different options for heating your home, there are several details to keep in mind whenever you consider installing a new system or replacing the one you have. While forced-air heating is one of the more common ones in use in this country, this doesn’t mean that it is the best one there is. While it is a fairly simple system, it has shortcomings, such as leaky ducts, lack of fine control and the fact that heated air cools down very quickly.
A radiant heating system doesn’t suffer from these issues. It involves a closed system of water or oil that is heated up and maintains its heat much longer. You are also able to better control the heat for individual rooms by turning up or down the heat on those elements. Many also feel that the radiant heat is more comfortable than forced air heat, which tends to dry you out more.
